Entering the Lancaster city limits we began to see block after block of these tightly knit communities.

Creamy & Delicious Split Pea & Spinach Soup

Their Huge Thai Burrito was truly scrumptious.
Savory Rice enfolded in a Whole Wheat Tortilla with Tomatoes, Onions, Cheese and a Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce.
We each took 1/2 home for dinner that night!

After lunch we drove the rest of the way to Marietta, PA, where we had a reservation for 3 nights at the Ascot House B & B on the Town Square.

This quaint little village was loaded with historic charm!

We checked into the Ascot House, a 207 year old Georgian Style Bed & Breakfast with a beautiful English Garden.  Soon after we moved into our spacious room, we found that the internet connection available was intermittent and would not suffice with the busy days we had scheduled.  Our host, Wendy, was eager to help, but alas, you either have it or you don't!  It was decided that we would stay that night and then move on after breakfast in the morning.

Although it was disclosed that we were one short block from the railroad track, I was not prepared for the abrupt disruption of a sound sleep when a train, in all of it's clanking and clinking and hooting and tooting and extremely loud and incredibly close glory, came barreling down that said track just short of midnight.  Dazed, I tried to fall back to sleep, but before long came another assault and another and another.  I think it must have been about 3 am when I finally came to rest.  Honestly, I was kind of glad the internet didn't work.....
